Welcome!
Hi! I’m Dan Pesserl,
I always knew I wanted to work for Microsoft, but I wasn’t quite sure where I would fit in. When I read about Microsoft’s plans on their Cloud Computing platform I became very excited! Working on the infrastructure needed to support such services is what I am passionate about! Anything from the design to its deployment! Especially the security concepts and measures that would have to be in place for these services to become sustainable!
I would hope that if Northrop Grumman and the FBI among other government agencies/contractors offered me positions in the Information Assurance and Cyber Defense fields, Microsoft would show some innterest as well. I had to decline those offers because I am not a Citizen. In this case their loss should be Microsoft’s gain!
The aforementioned had the chance to follow me for a weekend during the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition, which my team won. The objective was to maintain maximum availability on services while under attack from elite hackers on our core network. Not only did we beat 52 other colleges nation wide, but we were also invited by the Director of Home Land Security Cyber Security Division to take part in Cyberstorm III, a Cyber Terrorism simulation across the globe headed by the US Government.
More reasons why should Microsoft hire me:
- I enjoy taking on complex and difficult projects.
- I take pride in my work.
- When appropriate, I enjoy going above and beyond!
- I evaluate the situation from numerous perspectives before acting.
- Learning is my passion; its application my forte.

Great site. Microsoft should hire you!
This is a great idea..wish I had the courage to do the same. But I kind of feel the same as you…Ford let me go in Jan and feel it’s their loss and can certainly be someone else’s gain!
@Colleen Farmer
Colleen,
Sorry to hear about your layoff. However, you should communicate to future employers that they have everything to gain about hiring you.
Example: Did you make or save money for Ford? Improve something? Did the job of 2 people, etc.
